Being A Man Festival at Southbank Centre
Friday 25th November 2016
Raheel Mohammed of Maslaha will be speaking on a panel as part of the Being A Man Festival at the Southbank Centre on Friday 25th of November. He will be speaking alongside some of the young men from Leicester and experts on the criminal justice system about the challenges Muslim men face in prison.
The final image from our work with photographer Wasi Daniju and young men in Leicester recreating an artwork from the New Walk gallery in Leicester will be unveiled and on display over the three days of the festival.

Maslaha received funding from The Barrow Cadbury Trust in 2014 to conduct a scoping exercise to ascertain how prosecutors and sentencers can be more suitably equipped to deal with young Muslim men who come into contact with the criminal justice system. You can read more about this here.
The findings of this work and an implementation plan proposing steps forward was published in March 2016, read the report here.
